Making Canada’s Roads Safer

Canada is setting in motion programs to make the country’s roads a safer place. The country relies on road transportation and the experienced drivers who can safely transport cargo throughout its regions.
Operating a large truck comes with responsibilities and if they are not upheld, heavy consequences are certain.
Three of the provinces: Ontario; Saskatchewan; and Alberta have already implemented mandatory driver training for new commercial drivers and it is expected that national training standards will be in place by January 2020, according to the country’s transportation ministers.
The program which must be completed before a new commercial driver applies for their license, includes between 103.5 – 121.5 hours of in-class, in the yard and behind the wheel training delivered by a licensed driver training provider.
