Cultural Activities

Applicants must demonstrate experience in one or both of the following areas:

  • Self-Employment in Cultural Activities: Provide a track record of being self-employed in cultural activities for a minimum of two years.
  • Participation in Cultural Activities on a World-Class Level: Demonstrate participation in cultural activities at a world-class level for a minimum of two years.
  • A combination of Self-Employment and Participation: Combine at least two years of self-employment in cultural activities with two years of participation in cultural activities at a world-class level.

Cultural activity Examples:

  •  authors and writers,
  • creative and performing artists,
  • musicians,
  • painters,
  • sculptors and other visual artists,
  • technical support and other jobs in motion pictures,
  • creative designers,
  • craftspeople
Athletics

Applicants must demonstrate experience in one or both of the following areas:

  • Self-Employment in Athletics: Demonstrate self-employment in athletics for a minimum of two years.
  • Participation in Athletics on a World-Class Level: Prove participation in athletics at a world-class level for a minimum of two years.
  • A Combination of Self-Employment and Participation: Combine at least two years o self-employment in athletics with two years of participation in athletics at a world-class level.

By fulfilling the relevant experience criteria, individuals can qualify for the Self-Employed Persons Program. This will make them eligible to contribute their skills and expertise to Canada’s cultural or athletic landscape and pursue permanent residency.
