The eTA is a requirement for foreign nationals who plan to travel to Canada by air and have visa-exempt status. The authorisation is linked electronically to your passport and will remain valid for five years.
Applicants from eligible countries of territories should apply online for their eTA at least three days in advance of their intended arrival date.
Individuals who are citizens of the United States are exempt from the Canada Electronic Travel Authorisation requirement and do not need a Canada Visa of eTA in order to travel to Canada.

Citizens from the following countries are eligible to apply for an eTA for Canada:
Andorra, Anguilla, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Br. Virgin Is., Brunei, Bulgaria, Cayman Islands, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Montserrat, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Papua New Guinea, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Samoa, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, British overseas United Kingdom, Vatican City State.

Individuals holding a passport from the following countries are eligible to apply for a Canada eTA if they meet the specified conditions:
Countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Morocco, Panama, Philippines, Saints Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Seychelles, St. Vincent, Thailand, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay.
